After the last try-out of "Rock4 in concert" in Berlin (August 2009) and after the concert in Koksijde (May 2010) we interviewed Harry. He had a lot of things to tell. What things?? Here you'll find (all) the answers.

For 16 years I was a member of a hardcore acapella group "U-Bahn Kontrolloere in tiefgefrorenen Frauenkleidern"

I have an agency for actors together with my girlfriend and we also manage a band. For the rest I have various projects that I'm working on.
Where do you live:
At the moment I live in three cities, Frankfurt, Munchen and Berlin
How did you become a member of Rock4:
The group that I sang with for 16 years stopped their performances. I met Jeanine (Rock4's manager at that time) at an acapella festival and had already been talking to her about Rock4. Later on when Luc Nelissen decided to leave Rock4, Jeanine contacted me to see if I was interested in singing with Rock4. After the last concert with U-Bahn Kontrolloere in tiefgefrorenen Frauenkleidern I said I was nog going to do acapella again. There were only two groups who I thought were absolutely fantastic and interesting. One of the was Rock4, so I was very honoured. I came to the show in Maastricht on the 22nd of May and once again was very impressed. I auditioned for them and after their next show in Papendrecht they told me, they would like me to join them in Rock4. Then obviously I had to study a lot to be ready for the try-outs in Berlin.
Best Rock4 song:
Uninvited. I heard them sing it at a concert in Würselen in 2002 and I was absolutely amazed that they could sing that song so beautifully with just 4 voices.
Worst Rock4 song:
None. They have all got something special
What kind of music would you like to sing with Rock4:
Songs by Depeche Mode , Pink Floyd and many other ideas
Describe your Rock4 collegues:
Nico: He is the base of Rock4 on which all the songs are built. He has a great sense of humor, is very warm-hearted and has lots of power.
Lucas: He is a very intellectual person and has an open character
Luc: He is like a hamster, alway busy, always on the move. Very dedicated to the music and everything he does.
How did you experience the last months with Rock4
It keeps getting better. I have no problems with a 5 hour drive to get to Rock4. The group is evolving. Small things are being changed and I’m loving it more and more. Even when I’m tired or worn out, when I’m with the guys, I feel fantastic.
Which song is (technically) difficult to sing
Songs like Paranoid Android and Under Pressure because I have to keep switching from solo to accompaniment
What is your vocal reach
I’m a real bariton
How do you think the next show will look and sound
Luc has the lead in a lot of songs, but we will make more use of the vocal qualities of everyone within the group. One of the songs that we will be studying is Jeany (yes in German)
Which language do you speak when you are together
It is really a mix between Dutch, German and English
What is your favorite food
Actually….I like everything. I love pasta and all kinds of cheeses and I am always interested in trying local dishes

Good vannila ice with pumpkin-seed-oil
Favorite holiday destination
South-Limburg, but also a town like Munich or the Mediterranean area
